Short Stories
Tea in the Afternoon is a collection of three Southern short stories:
"Miss Bliss Strikes a Blow," in which a gentlewoman does her part for women's suffrage;
"Restitution," winner of the South Carolina Writers Conference Literary Award for Short Fiction, about an estranged father and daughter;
and "The New Car," in which Bertie Gilcrist plots to obtain the car of his dreams.
Review from author and reader Polly Iyer:
"wonderful stories full of charm, pathos, and wit. They're reminders of genteel times past. The characters burst off the page as do the settings."
