| Photographer Kate McGuire has a modest little talent for psychometry—the ability to divine information through touch. It's enough to get her into trouble, but not enough to get her out of it. During a parapsychology experiment, Kate sees a murder being committed but cannot see the murderer. The recurring vision of the murdered woman haunts her. Through the well-meaning interference of Venice Ashburton, Kate's eccentric mentor, reporter John Gerrard learns of Kate's visions. Short on serious news, he mentions Kate in an article on a missing coed. The police dismiss Kate's visions, but the murderer thinks she needs to be silenced. Click to read Chapter One
